Dropping the Electricity Amendment Bill was one of the conditions for withdrawing the farmer’s struggle. Yet the government is bringing it back. Filled with a bunch of dangerous proposals, the bill will shut shop for many State-owned power distribution companies, eventually giving a monopoly to the private players. And that path will be marred with chaos.
